This page is maintained by Curblee LLC to answer common questions about how we handle information for the Curblee waitlist and website.
1. What we collect
When you join the Curblee waitlist, we collect your email address. We also automatically log your IP address and browser user-agent temporarily to prevent spam and abuse. If you arrive via a referral link, we record the referral code so we can credit the sender.
Approximate location (geo-IP). When your signup reaches our server, our hosting network resolves your IP address to an approximate country, region/state, and city, and we store those three values with your waitlist entry. We do this so we know which neighborhoods and metro areas to launch in first. We do not use GPS, we do not collect a street address or precise coordinates, and we do not send your IP address to a third-party location service. Your raw IP address is not stored alongside your waitlist record — only the coarse location derived from it.
2. How we use it
- Send you a confirmation email and launch updates about Curblee.
- Notify you when Curblee launches in Washington, DC.
- Prevent fake signups, bots, and abuse.
- Measure aggregate signup and referral performance.
- Prioritize which DC neighborhoods and metro areas we launch in, using approximate geo-IP location.
We do not sell your email or share it with third parties for their marketing.
3. Who we share with
We use a small number of trusted service providers to run Curblee:
- A database and authentication provider to securely store waitlist entries.
- An email delivery provider to send confirmation and update emails.
- An analytics provider for aggregate, anonymized traffic measurement.
Each provider is bound by their own privacy and security terms and only receives the minimum data needed to perform their function.
4. Data retention
We keep your email address for as long as you remain on the waitlist or until you ask us to delete it. Temporary IP address and user-agent logs used for spam prevention are automatically removed after a short period.
5. Your rights
You can unsubscribe at any time via the link at the bottom of any Curblee email, or by visiting curblee.com/unsubscribe. To request deletion of your data or a copy of what we hold, email hello@curblee.com and we'll respond within 30 days.
6. Cookies
We use minimal cookies — essential ones for the site to work and an analytics cookie for aggregate traffic measurement. No advertising trackers.
